The 17th anniversary of the adoption of the constitution was celebrated at the Ministry of Commerce & Industry.

The ceremony was attended by Abdul Karim Malekyaar Deputy Minister for Industry and Commerce, Mohammad Nader Alam head of Department of monitoring and implementing of the constitution in institutions and Non-Governmental Organizations of Independent Commission for Overseeing the Implementation of the Constitution, Heads and Staff of the Ministry was held.
First, Abdul Karim Malekyaar Deputy Minister for Industry and Commerce thanked the participants and said that the current constitution is adorned with the values of the holy religion of Islam and there are no cases that are contrary to Islamic values.
Then, Mohammad Nader Alam head of Department of monitoring and implementing of the constitution in institutions and Non-Governmental Organizations of the Commission, thanked the organizers and spoke about the importance of the Constitution and celebrating the week of the adoption of the Constitution and congratulated this day to all nation of Afghanistan.
He added that in other countries there is a constitutional council or constitutional courts to oversee the constitution, and in Afghanistan the commission has been given the task of overseeing, safeguarding and enforcing the performance of the three powers of government. Interpretations are also made to receive discrepancies in laws referred to the commission by the legislature, the judiciary and the executive.
He also provided information on the role, structure, duties and competencies of the commission.
At the end, Mohammad Nader Alam, head of Department of monitoring and implementing of the constitution in institutions and Non-Governmental of the Commission, presented the miniature constitution of the Commission to the Deputy Minister as a gift.
